kenmore dishwaher not draining

My dishwasher will not drain. At least two inches of water is left at the bottom after the cycle ends. It sounds like it is trying to drain unsuccessfully. If something is plugged or preventing it from draining, how do I fix this?

sounds like it might be blocked at the bottom there should be a drain way which unscrews and you can then try to unblock it you could also try and pour some weak drain unblocker down there.
