Kenmore dishwasher - water not draining

I just bought a Kenmore dishwasher model #13739 and after running a full cycle, there is water - not just a little, but a lot, more than i have EVER seen inside a dishwasher anywhere, anytime - lying in the bottom.

i've called for the installer to come back and sort it out and they tried to tell me all dishwashers have water in the bottom. which i think is a load of bull.

any ideas? thanks! i'm new to the forum
