I have some brick built pots in the front, they have an assortment of plants ( mainly evergreens) One in particular ( fern type plant, grows in a huge round ball)is starting to die. On close inspection... the compost is alive with woodlice.

If I boil up a pot of cig stumps, will the solution kill the boogers. Or could you recommend something. ( just been to a store, all they seem to have is leaf spray stuff... I need to get something at the roots.
Many Thanks
Lynn

Woodlice eat wet and rotten timbers (they have practically no teeth and actually eat the rot)

They do no harm to sound timber or living plants.

If you clear away the dead stuff they will have nothing to eat so will die or go somewhere else.

Right, Thanks John, I'll have to get the marigolds out lol

Woodlice along with worms are essential for a garden as they are natures way of converting old dead and rotting vegetation into goodness for the soil. Encourage them don't even think of getting rid of them they are not Pests!
