Hello,
We are redecorating the office room and planned a shelve in the wall where the current switch is thinking of using a kinetic switch from now on. Bought one (Live in (Lin), Neutral in (Nin), Live out (Lou), Neutral out (Nou)) and then found out the connection is at the ceiling rose, so I dont have a neutral wire.

Looking on the internet I saw connecting a capacitor between the lamp live and the neutral at the ceiling rose will fix the problem. Fitted the capacitor and connected the lamp's switch wire as Lin and Nou. That way the light was always on, despite the kinetic switch was powered on and working, the light was always on.

Any experience on how should I put the wires (capacitor and kinetic) or any kinetic that works only with live wire? I know I could wire the receiver in the ceiling rose, but wanted to see if anyone has an easier solution than that one. Also because I was planning another kinetic in the living room, where there is only 1 switch/gang but 2 lights. Not sure how to wire the kinetic there.

Thank you very much.

A capacitor between switched live (NOT loop) and neutral can help in situations where a receiver designed for use without a neutral to control incandescent bulbs fails to work correctly with CFL or LED lighting. It will not help with a receiver that needs a neutral.
