Evening all

I have an Albion hot water cylinder which is giving 4 -5 seconds of water out of the hot taps, then trickling off to nothing.

I'm guessing it is an airlock.

Any quick pointers in how to release the airlock to get water flow?

TIA

If you have any unvented cylinder then I doubt it's an airlock.

Maybe one of the valves feeding the cylinder is not functioning properly.

This is the cylinder in question

The d/stairs sink should have gravity hot + mains cold, if you have a twin tap, get someone to open the hot & cold taps fully and hold their finger/hand over the spout end, go to the attic and you should/might see water coming from the vent pipe over the CWST cistern, hold your hand over this but not "for ever", you should hear gurgling in the cylinder, if so, the air lock should clear fairly rapidly.
If you have a single lever mixer d/stairs then try opening this fully and position it ~ 1/2 way and carry out the same procedure.

If you have hot and cold taps connect across with a length of hose pipe and try back flushing hot tap with pressurised cold water for a few seconds
