Hi there, I'm trying to put up a 1m wide cabinet in my new build kitchen. The wall this needs to go on is a plasterboard internal wall with metal C shaped studs. The gap I'm looking to mount on is about 107cm so plenty of room to cut.

What is the best way to go about this without risking the cabinet pulling the plasterboard down? I'm concerned the weight of the unit and the contents (glasses and mugs mostly) will be a considerable weight for this type of wall.

I've attached a photo of where this will go with sticky notes showing the studs. Would mounting it in the corner against both walls provide stability? The other option I'm considering is putting in poles at the bottom on the front to act as legs but obviously this would be less aesthetically pleasing than pure wall mount.

Thanks in advance!

Use brolly fixings in the metal stud and use a setting tool. You need to drill and find out whether you have single or double layers of plasterboard, then buy the correct length of brolly fixing. e.g. for double skin...

I'm with Marty on this - go for the long rail and get as many fixings into the metal studs as you can first (it will more than likely be one or maybe two if your house is on 600mm stud centres). Once you have the rail fixed extra umbrella fixings of the type recommended by RSGaz can be used at the outer ends and maybe one or two other points along the long rail
