I had my kitchen replaced about 18 months ago & the floor replaced with a new concrete one. House is Victorian so the previous floor had no insulation or damp proofing.

I was going to fit Karndean or similar vinyl flooring however the concrete is still a bit damp.

Builder suspects there is a problem with dpc on internal walls and moisture seeping into floor.

I'm wondering if I could use tiles on the floor instead on the basis that they and the grout are more porous than a vinyl floor and any slight moisture would not cause a problem and/or escape.

Thoughts and advice on this?

nope...

has the floor got a dpm?..

is it coming down/from the walls?
has the walls got a dpc level?

that new concrtete floor with dpm should be dry by now.

New floor has a dpm however the thought from my builder is that the damp might be coming from the walls. The external walls have a dpc but no idea with internal ones.

Yes the new floor should be dry by now....
