Kitchen Led Light Failure

Hi All

I purchased a Fluorescent Light powered by Led strips. Please see attached Photos.

Ebay seller whom I bought this Light fitting from looks like he has gone into administration! The unit does have 3 year warranty but cannot make contact with the seller to see if they will honour it!

My question is is there a place whereby I can purchase these LED Strips which have pre -drilled holes for screwing into fixture base plate?

believe the strips have the markings SSH3189-2

520 X 12MM - 5630 - 8W (X2)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, many thanks.

Are you sure it is the strips & not the power supply? If so repairing the strips should be easy enough.

Check the polarity of the connections to the strips. It looks to be incorrect in the photograph

If it is the strips that need replacing then LED strips with self adhesive backing will stay in place.

With LED lighting ( as with many things ) low cost often means low quality.

Yes 100% it is the strips and not power supply sure as replacing the faulty strips makes the LED Partially light up.

Where can I get these or replacement strips with same power connections to connect to rets of the strips?

Bernard the Photo you are referring to are the 2 faulty strips just joined together for demo purposes only.

Can you post a picture of the power supply label. Specifically the details of the output voltage / current

Easy to buy self adhesive strips which can be cut to length and stuck directly to underside of cabinets probably use your own drivers.

How do you get / cut and ensure correct connections to existing LED strips with same wire loop connection?

That drives a fixed current of 220mA ( 0.22 Amps) through a string of LED elements. The voltage on it's output will be determined by the number of LED elements and is limited to the range of 40 Volts to 90 Volts. A white LED element has a voltage of approx 3.5 Volts

Shortest string would be 12 LED elements ( 12 x 3.5 = 42 )
Longest string would be 25 LED elements ( 25 x 3.5 = 87.5 )

There are 15 LED elements in each strip which I assume are connected in series along the strip thus 52.5 Volts per strip.

Based on that assumption each strip will require it's own driver.

The power rating printed on the driver (50-100) W is not logical as 40 Volts at 0.22 Amps is 8.8 Watts and 90 Volts at 0.22 Amps is 19.8 Watts

Look like iffy Chinese driver, can’t spell or even keep to same typeface, bin them and replace all .

I would bin it , should last around 10 years or more, so inferior.

Yes but not with those LED strips and driver.

Try Lyco for suitable LED strips that operate of 12 V DC and can be cut to length required .Lyco also supply matching 12 V DC power supply modules.

Trying to contact them would almost certainly be a total waste of time and money.
