kitchen light switch

hello, i have just finished decorating my kitchen. and now i have decided to change the light switch.

it has two switchs on it, one for the kitchen and one which is a secondary switch for living room...

i thought i had memorised the order but NOO!!!!!! GRRRR!!!

i have 3 red wires , 1 blue 1 yellow and an earth to the metal box.

i tried to just wire up the kitchen using red yellow and blue, but i only get the living room one working, i changed the red wire for another red wire and got nothing at all. now im left sitting in the dark, please can somone help

the switch has L1 L2 and com on each side, im not bothered about getting living room light working , just the kitchen

You'll probably find the red/yellow/blue in one cable and a pair of reds in the other cable. If you pop the switch forwards in the living room (POWER OFF FIRST!) and look to see how that is wired.
On the switch, have a look and you'll probably find that the switches are arranged in two halves i.e. the com at the top and L1 + L2 at the bottom are one switch, and vice versa are the other switch.
You need to copy the red/yellow/blue the same as what you have in the living rm to one switch.
The pair of reds sound like the kitchen switch, these will go to com and L1 on the other switch.

That is of course, assuming you didn't have any little wire links in with the old switch!

thinking of it , there was a bridge between two of the red wires, i have looked at living room light switch . irs a single switch, yellow isnt connected, blue L1 red L2 and 2 reds in L3

If yellow isn't connected at this end then it is confusing me as to why it is the other, can you upload some photos of what you have got?
I'm thinking the red in the 3c&e is the permanent live which is the one which you'll need to have the link connected to, the other end of the link to one of the other reds.
Just to confuse matters, the other switch is labelled differently i.e.
Com = L1
L1 = L2
L2 = L3
