Kitchen light switches off.

Hi

I have a kitchen light (a normal lamp holder) with an energy saving light bulb in it. The kitchen light switches on then after a few hours it switches its self off. I have checked for a loose conection in the switch and lamp holder, but can not find any.

Any advice would help thanks.

The correct terminology for that, is the lamp!

So are the kitchen lights left on, for hours on end?
Sound like you have something loose somewhere, could be a cable or contact.
With the light being left on heat is being generated and expansion taking place, likely this is breaking continuity, then when cooling down contractions and the contact is remade.
