Not really an electrical question, more of a design suggestion perhaps..
What sort of lighting do you have in your kitchen and do you find it suitable?
We are building an extension and doubling the size of the kitchen, the wall to the dining room is also coming out to make it more open plan.
We currently have a traditional 6' strip light which is funtional and cheap to run but looks cr@p. There is also 4 small strip lights under the wall cabinet pelmets.
Nearly all Kitchens in showrooms use the circular flush mounted spotlights but I presume these are quite expensive to run as most are 50w? If we went with these should we use mains voltage or low voltage?
The kitchen will be of modern design with black gloss cupboard doors, because it is open plan there are no wall units although one wall has full height cupboards.
