I have two under pelmet mains 9W florescent strip lights installed in my kitchen. They have been there for many years. They are wired via a fused lighting circuit spur which can be turned off via one of the kitchen light switches. The florescent lights also incorporate an on off switch.
The same switched spur also runs the cooker hood.
I am redecorating the kitchen and noticed this is how it is set up.
Is this arrangement acceptable in current standards?
