Was thinking of getting a new kitchen in my small flat, but am put off by the £5K quotes and am not sure it needs a whole new kitchen. The Doors/drawer fronts and handles are looking a little old, and some of the insides of the cabinets are damaged or look bad, especially under the sink where there was obvioulsy once a leak. The oven and washer are also ancient. I was therefore thinking of just getting a new cooker and washer and sink and replacing the doors. Is there any good companys that specialise in this in the West London/Surrey area or do any of the large chains sell fronts on there own. Any tips, tricks, advice or pointers greatly recieved. Thanks

so i pointed out there are lots of companies that do supply doors, and that you should try google, which you have now done.

Unles you ask a specific question, how do you expect to get a specific answer?

welcome to the forums ;)

Firms that specialise in replacement doors etc can be VERY expensive, I worked for the one mentioned above and could not believe what people were paying for doors and worktops.

If your doors are a standard size and you are not looking for anything out of the ordinary try B&Q's off the shelf range.

You could also try small local kitchen makers, most can supply doors that are priced ok and they will answer your questions and steer you in the right direction.

Best of luck

as long as they are standard size units, you can replacement doors from most of the sheds. mfi do an internet ordering service for new kitchens. you can just order the door fronts that way. fairly easy job. if you have to drill the holes to fit the hinges in new positions, make yourself a jig so that you can drill them in the same place every time

Thanks for the replys so far. I went into homebase today to look at there kitchens. They had a very nice white kitchen which looked perfect and they were happy to sell door on there own. Was very excited until I measured my doors on the wall cabinets. They're 720mm. Homebases are all 704. Was very dissapointed, but the search goes on. Interesting to hear the place I mentioned is expensive. Look forward to seeing there prices when the brochure arrives.

just checked MFI website and theyre wall units are 720mm high!!! A Match!! Will be checking them out soon.
Soes anyone know how easy it is to say just replace a few of the units below the worktop. The one under the sink could do with replacing for example. Thanks

again as long as they are the same size fairly easy, providing you do it very carfully and methodically.
