Having pulled a kitchen out I'm now looking to redo the plumbing. At present there two connection point for both the hot and the cold in both the kitchen and utility.

Modern washing machines and dishwashers only seem to use cold feeds these days, so should I just have one connector for the hot and two for the cold in each room or should I do two of each albeit the spare hot won't be being used at this time as far as I can see? I suppose as a just in case...

Modern machines are cold fill only as it is supposed to be more energy efficient to just heat the water required for one load. Don't know whether its true or not, but not likely to change in the foreseeable future, so I'd use just cold supplies to the appliances and both hot and cold to any sinks.

If you do decide to be belt and braces, make sure you cap the ends of the unused hot lines, don't just put a valve on them and close the valves.
