Kitchen sink. White, shiny and smooth. Only ceramic ??

Wife wants to update the utility room and replace the old ss sink with a white, shiny and smooth finished sink. Are there any composite sinks that have a smooth and glossy finish or will it have to be a ceramic one ? She wants an inset, not a Belfast style.

Lots of white resin sinks around, replaced my sisters after she poured paint stripper down it ( dissolved the surface).

Thanks but Yes, I had already found that out. Our kitchen sink is a composite and has the grainy surface. Wife wants a smooth and shiny surface on the new sink so is that ceramic only ?

Composite/Corian worktops are generally finished to about P320 grit. The bowls are finished to match this type of top. This is a semi matt finish designed to look reasonable whilst disguising minor scratches. Go to a finer finish (say P800 grit, or P2000 grit, a polished finish) and every scratch shows, the higher the level of polish, the worse the problem - and they scratch relatively easily as the material is fairly soft (at least in comparison with ceramic or stainless steel). I think that limits you to ceramic.

Seamless Corian sinks look great when first installed but they soon get stained by tea bags or curry. Ceramic is far more forgiving.
