I'm just about to fit a chimney hood to my newly installed kitchen. I'm thinking of fitting a stainless steel splashback behind the electric hob and obviously would like it to run all the way up to the chimney hood as it'll look "continuous". Unfortunately, it seems that the standard sizes are 600mm and 900mm width which is fine but the height seems to be 750mm. If I position the hood at 750mm above the hob, the hood is a little low in my opinion. Is this a common problem or is the 750mm height the "right" height to use? I could increase the height if I fitted upstands I guess. What do people usually do in this situation? Surely 750mm between hob and hood isn't really enough and the user may end up banging their head!
