Hi, I have a requirement to give BC details of how I intend to connect a kitchen sink/dishwasher waste to an external gully or SVP.
Long story short (for the intro at least!), I have full plans approval for a single story replacement extension with new kitchen, which I can't afford to do at the moment (if ever).
To get a desperately needed new and bigger kitchen we're relocating the current one to the lounge (close by) as an older extension provides an additional lounge.
Now for the long question...
Have run BC through my revised (undrawn) plans and just a couple of things they want me to provide details on, mainly this.
The proposed sink/dishwasher location means (ideally) going out through the original external wall it would be fitted against, into the existing extension.
Then run parallel to that wall for around 4m to the existing kitchen gulley or an external soil stack about another metre over.
So my starting punt was a 50mm rod-able pipe with correct fall into the gully, which means going though a perpendicular extension wall before the gully.
Unfortunately there's a doorway in the parallel wall between the house and extension which means waste either needs to be run at floor level with an existing doorstep extending over it (my preferred option, and 'acceptable' in my mind), or trenched, but this is what was written up after the visit:
"Advised that as the pipe would need to run under ground it would need to be in 100mm pipework and be adequately protected, and details to be confirmed how this will connect into the existing gully/SVP. lowest connection to into SVP to be 450mm to the drain invert. If running under slab adequate protection over pipe required."
To the best of my knowledge the extension slab is solid uninsulated, circa 1960.
Now, I COULD excavate and join into the soil stack a bit further across but it seems a LOT of work when a 50mm surface waste into the current gulley would seem to suit the purpose, just about (especially as it might be temporary). I can't find any info on how deep/wide a trench against the wall for 110mm soil would need to be INSIDE the house footprint. Wouldn't that need to be something like 2ft deep once outside though, to be considered a suitable trench? Or is against walls to SVPs less picky?
I don't really want to fit a grey water pump, although that might be an alternative solution (to run it just above floor level in the 'step' to the gully), until I can arrange a lottery win to do the full new extension and excavate the entirety. Can they insist this connection is run in 110mm, in/'under' the slab? I'd presumably also then need a small lintel over it where it passes through the perpendicular wall.
Any advice please on this or other options I've not considered?
