Newbie here.

I hope I'm posting in the right place. I want to replace my kitchen work tops but unfortunately one is built into a bay window (literally) and is very deep and built into the walls at the sides.

I'm afraid removing it might cause lots of trouble or damage like a big game of Jenga.

Does anyone have any advice? May get a new sink too.

I'm not a DIY expert either by the way which is why I've come here. I'm not looking to go to the expense of a whole new kitchen just the work tops.

I'm not a tradesman so those in the know might have a better idea but... Take a look from underneath if you can - work surfaces can sometimes be bedded in to walls a bit when plastering or tiling gets done it's not normally too far - you certainly shouldn't have any structure resting on it.

However when you pull it out it could pull plaster off the wall so really you need to cut it free first - you need to remove the beading/silicone around the edges and get it so you can see nothing is 'sticking' to the worktop.it may be worth getting hold of a cheap oscillating multi-tool from amazon or lidl (£30) to help with this.

Remove the sink and then cut the worktop thru the centre, this will make removal easier and less likely to cause damage.
