pair of compases set to the gap and run along at right angles
checking the compases again at the finnish to check they havent mooved

keeping in mind you may have to adjust the worktop position to fit with another worktop

Get a washer where the width of the ring is about quarter inch (or near enough) stick a pencil in it and run against the back wall. You will now have a pencil mark on the worktop that follows the contour of the wall, you then cut down this line and the worktop should fit with no gaps.
Gotta make sure its in line with the front of the cabs before you start though and preferably overhanging by an extra 6mm, cos that's what you'll be losing from the back.
