Hi.

Can you help with my question about my drill?

After 4 years of use with my drill I've starting to noticed the battery starting to drop in power and after charging up and it does not hold charged at all. It happen to both of battery I thought it might be the charger but I've tested it on another charger but still the same. Also one of the battery casing has a melt area on it.

What could be the problem and how do I restore it? :?: :(

Ref: Bosch GSB 18 ve-2 cordless combi.

I am very happy with my drill which is tough and strong and I hope you can help with my question.

Daniel.

The battery will have gone to the great Ni - cad graveyard in the sky mate....its probably best to buy a complete drill but a battery specialist will install new cells if you really want to.
If you go for a lithium ion type the batteries last much longer and you can leave them in any state of charge.

Cheers Burnerman.

I've tried to recharged and one of battery has just started to get really hot and a melt area on it. I've scrapped the battery.

I've asked Bosch for cost of new battery and £114.00 is the price.
There is a combi drill with 3 battery and screwbits for £299.00, cheaper than the cost of 3 battery alone.

I will have to buy another bosch combi. Ordered one with 3 battery so I can still use old combi and also I have a cordless jigsaw with same battery type.

Strange, I also have a Black & Decker Diy cordless combi which was my first one 15 years ago is still going strong and I'm using it till new drill come.

Bit late now but you should have shopped around a bit, Bosch will always be more expensive than retailers, you can get three 2.6aH genuine Bosch 18v batteries for £112.70 for the lot including delivery

Hello Muggles

I had to cancel the order for new combi as I found the sample Bosch GSB 18 VE-2 3 a little too heavy, around 3.7kg, for me to work with.

I'm still looking for a new drill / driver and thinking for getting 14.4v drill with 3 x 3.0ah li -lon batteries for £189.99 inc vat.

3 x 18v 2.6ah batteries for £112.70.....? Where that come from?

Daniel
