Knocking down a wall

Hello, I am just checking really that I can just take a hammer to this wall and knock it down.

It was put up by last people in the house we are buying (its a repo so no details) as they had a boy and girl in the same room, we know it doesnt comply to build regs but we dont want it anyway, so can I just go knock it down with a hammer?

Its a stud/partion wall and doesnt support anything at all

If you take the plasterboard off you might be able to save the timber and reuse it. If not use a saw as well as a hammer.

Break out & remove some sections of the board & have a look at how the studwork has been fixed in position before you go crashing around with a hammer. If screws have been used, take them out or you risk doing an awful lot of damage to the ceiling/floor/walls.
