Korker damage on older cedar shakes?

B

Hi all!
Newbie here.
Had our roof re-shingled 9 years ago (10YR warranty) but recently found that roofers lowered the fascia by ~1' to touch the shingles on an over- hang (it was always open before).
Recently found there were a family of rats in the rafters, due to the fact they never bothered re-shingling that part of the roof (hence the lowering of the fascia to cover it up).
The insulation, rafters (& rat feces) were quite open, a perfect home for rats.
I had complained last week and they put up aluminum flashing, but they did it on the ONLY RAINING morning of the past few weeks.
They used "Korkers" and trashed the shingles, but promised me there would be no permanent damage.
May I ask your opinion on this?
Again, 9 year old roof, ..I'm not sure the cedar will "self heal" after this.
(Pics in My Albums?)

TIA Bill

Do you think that people here will be familiar with Korkers, and cedar shakes, and what the former might do to the latter?
