Shortly be fitting a floor to my bathroom. Fitting it before the tiler is in so he can tile the walls down to the floor so he can seal the tiles down to the floor without the need for edging.

at present there is solid concrete floor (which is why I dont want to tile the floor as it will forever be freezing.

I would like solid wood as it would seem it could be sealed and maintained over years, but not too sure on its suitablility for a bathroom.

There will be a good extractor but being its being fitted over concrete it will likley be cooler so may suffer from condensation.

Whats your opinions on the most suitable wooden style floor in this case?

We fitted laminate in our bathrooms, the "splash resistant" (or whatever the wording was) stuff, and it's been fine for about 5 years. We're fairly careful at not soaking the floor, but not really anal about it. Obviously with laminate you can put underlay under it to keep some heat in.

We also fitted skirting boards with screws, going with the theory that if the laminate fails and needs done again it'd be fairly easy. And it'd be a good way of remodelling the room without spending much.

Spolid and engineered is a really bad idea in a bathroom, a bathroom suitable laminate may be an option, personally i'd stick to sheet vinyl or Luxury Vinyl tile.
