Hi,
I'm flooring my kitchen which has an internal fire door leading to our garage.
Our builder has gone bust without finishing the fire door and floor so I'm not sure what to do about ending the flooring where the fire door closes.
I could use the standard Quickstep edging which would leave a gap of around 5mm under the fire door, but I'm wondering if it will stand up to the heavy traffic in and out of the garage as it just sits in the plastic gutter thats screwed to the floor. It'll get scuffed to hell and you can't then sand it etc.
The other way would seem to be to fit some form of solid wood step with a cut out underneath for the laminate to pop under. and the fire door would close against it, rather than over the top.
What's the "normal" way to cover the concrete step into a garage?
