Can you lay laminate flooring on top of normal carpet underlay? sure i heard this somewhere, especially good for upsatirs rooms as deadens noise of walking around the flooring
Nope.
Well you can of course, but it is definitely not recommended. The rubber carpet underlayment will pulverise in the long term: causing even more noise than when using proper sound-insulating underlayment for wooden or laminate flooring.
