 help please,
we recently had laminate flooring layed by a fitter. He has layed it in the "brickwork" form. Unfortunately the joins at the ends of each piece do not lie smooth (ie the ends are lifting slightly making it feel uneven under foot). Is this a fitting problem and how can it be best rectified other than having the whole lot relayed. The floor was levelled prior to fitting and a correct underlay used.
Many thanks for any advice given...

when you say lifting i assume you mean a slight bounce that goes down when you put weight on it
did you notice how much of a gap he left round the edges do you know of any point its touches the the wall without a gap [door frames for example]how did he finnish the edges :?: :?:

he left the recommended gap around the edges. The lifting is not due to bounce the ends are permanently raised causing a small step on ends, yet clearly visible which shoundn't be. should I glue the ends?

you must NOT glue it down if its the outer edge of the floor area it should be coverd by the skirting molding or door threshold strips

how are the edges finnished off do they go under the skirting or is there moulding between the flooring and wall

reading this again and again

is it sticking out from under the edging on one side :?: :?:

You mention the ends of each piece are raised. Do you mean the end of each piece of laminate, or the end of each row of laminate. If the former do you mean that your floor is undulating and you can't do the slide in your socks? If the later do you mean the edges around the walls has lifted and you can slide in your socks from one side of the room to the other?

the end edge of each laminate edge is raised, cant do the slide in socks without catching toes in raised edge. I'm not refering to the long edge of laminate or the perimeter of floor just the short edges of each laminate. can I glue them together to keep them even?

assuming the ends havent swollen due to being left wet
i would get the fitter back
is it click together or glue together laminate :?: :?:
