Hi,
I'm thinking of putting some laminate flooring down over
vinyl floor tiles. The floor tiles are on concrete with a
black (bitumin?) adhesive. Put down when the place was
built (1971) (as they extend under stud walls), so could well contain asbestos.
The vast majority of the tiles are well stuck down and floor is flat,
but there is a bit of damaged where an internal door was
moved and by the front door where the sill had rotted and
got a bit damp (perhaps not helped by the outside step
being higher that the damp proof course).
Obviously the door sill will need sorting out first, but
what mortar/filler should I use to make good the small bits of missing tile.
Seems overkill to level the entire floor for a few
patches?
Also what sort of underlay& dpm would be best over vinyl floor
tiles?
Thanks
Jim
