2 simple questions

1. Does anyone know if there is an adaptor available to plug an GU10 lamp into a B22 bayonet lampholder?

2. Does anyone in the West Country know if Southwestern Power charge to fit an isolating switch after the meter?

TIA

No.

GU10 lamps burn far too hot for a BC lampholder. It would turn to dust within minutes. This is why GU10s have ceramic lampholders.

Ring them and ask

Thanks for your reply RF. I appreciate that most GU10s do burn hot. I am interested in using the new LED lamps which burn quite cool. I can however see your point that if an adaptor was available someone would plug in a hot lamp.
So to the further question, is a GU10 lampholder available in cord grip form to use inplace of BC (with heat resisting cable)

No, you would have to replace the ceiling rose as well as the lampholder with an actual GU10 fitting I'm afraid.
