I have a torchiere floor lamp that used to have a glass shade on it until my cat knocked it over in the middle of the night & broke it!
I spent months looking for the perfect lamp until I found this one so am wanting to somehow salvage it as it works perfectly.
I would like to just replace the shade with a fabric one in case it gets knocked over again.
This is what the fitting looks like:

The metal part right under the bulb is removable.
I did find a shade I LOVE which has an uno fitting I believe.

It doesn't quite fit on the base because the spokes are in the way. Is it ok for it to be directly on the bulb? Or is that a major fire hazard? Is there any way for me to make this shade work or should I just keep looking?
