landing light with built in pir

Hi all, can anyone suggest a ceiling light for an upstairs hallway with a built in pir to allow night time trips to the bathroom? many thanks for any responses. I know steinel do some, any others?

Why not put in a Ceiling PIR (Almost flush), then you can put almost any Fitting up ?

Or I believe you can get switches which you put in a convenient place on a wall and press with your finger to operate them as necessary.

I'm sure I've seen them somewhere.

I'm not sure I'd want my landing light to come on full whack in the middle of the night when I'm half asleep and my eyes are used to the dark.

I have an emergency light at the top of my stairs and the little green charge LED does a fantastic job of lighting the stairs / landing for night time toilet trips.

We have the ceiling PIR from TLC and it has worked well for about 8 years. Having said that, we use it for a g/f hall in a bungalow and I'd be a bit worried about using it on a landing in case people started downstairs relying on the landing light (about 1000 people die every year in UK from falling downstairs)- of course you could have a PIR on the staircase.

On a serious note - if the PIR is wanted because of frequent night-time trips to the loo by a man, that man should ask his GP to refer him to someone who'll stick a latexed finger up his b*m...

I love playing with electrics and installing things I can sit back and be proud of as much as the next man, but unless there's a good reason for something like this (like a disability or something similar) then it does seem a little like overkill.

Given what they did because 2.6 people a year die from fixed wiring faults I think that an immediate ban on stairs should be introduced.
