It's not bloody tools and materials, its a problem I've got with a boiler flue. Boilers are PLUMBING!!!!!!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Ordinary hire centres seem to go up to 152mm, and one said that was the biggest "they" made. I've since seen references to greater than 900mm, but I'd have no wall left then.
Bin finkin about this. Lets say you have a 5" core. Make hole with that. Then get a piece if 3/4 ply, say, with a 7" hole jigsawed out of it. Screw that to the wall concentric wi' 'ole. There will be a 1" annulus showing.
Now, using the ply as a guide, use your core bit to take bites out of the annulus. Work your way round. There will be curvy 3 sided bits to be removed, but the more bites you make the smaller they will get. Maybe start a bit over 7", assuming you will be using a collar of some sort.
Using that logic, every topic that gives rise to a post mentioning the use of some tool or other should be moved immediately to tools and materials. Or since it's a hole in a wall, why didn't it get moved to "Building"?
