Hi,

I've got this root from a rose/bramble bush growing into the foundations of this house, its cracked the mortar and appears to have cracked a brick in half (this is visible in the right hand side of the photo.

Cut it out asap I assume?>

thanks
Will

When it was growing it’s water use may have caused settlement due to drying soil around foundations, but I would not be happy to keep it against house walls.

After cutting it back, paint undiluted Glyphosate onto the fresh cuts and it will be drawn back to kill the roots.

You will see the cuts are still live if they are wet with sap.

How old is the house? Cement mortar is harder and stronger than lime.
