Hi,
I'm in the process of replacing the hearth in our inglenook fireplace. I've found a large piece of slate (1.8m x 0.7m x 30mm) which will fit the width of the fireplace but I've seen some off-hand mentions in other threads here about not using a single tile in case it cracks. Is this a real issue and will it matter for such a substantial piece of stone?
Cheers,
Adam
