Hi all,
We've are planning to do a lot of work on the back garden soon - adding a large decking or porcelain sitting area on the right hand side as well as replacing a lot of the lawn itself (very old), then adding a shed to the left side.
It's a relatively small area and the problem we have is that it slopes from right to left and slightly from back to front. Therefore, when it rains a lot, the water tends to collect on the left hand side.
I would ideally like to purchase the shed v soon and place it on the left side next to the fence. As water collects here, I would really want to fix the drainage before adding the base for it
The options I have thought of are:
1; keep the slope - and create a tier or step up to the sitting area. If we do this, then presume would need to add some kind of french drain solution on the left and direct this to the nearest rain gutter? Possibly another along the front of the garden (nearest the house) too
2; level the whole area. Would it best best to simply move some soil from right to left or just remove soil from the right altogether, then mot on top of that. Perhaps eco/french drain along the front (closest to the house) as well
I will try get some pics sent asap as I appreciate how difficult it prob is to comment blindly
Thanks,
