i want to lay a laminated floor myself any tips on where to start laying it to get it running straight and what tools do i need for the job and is it true that snap lock it ,is better than glueing it cheers

and also what is the best underlay that i can use for sound proofing as its going on a wooden floor i would appreciate the help please
 
You can buy laminate floor laying kits from any good floor supplier (B&Q do them for around £10 I think).

I prefer the click boards, no mess, perfect joins and SO easy to lay, initially some people struggle with 'em but once you've got the knack it's easy.

You need to decide whether you're going to remove the skirting boards or use some sort of bead edging, personally I remove the skirtings, clean em up and put them back, gives it a more professional finish.

Re underlay, Can't remember what they're called but I've used the Green square underlay boards (around £20 for 19sq metres) which helps with sound proofing, found them better than the rolls of underlay.
