Hi all hope you all had a great xmas and new year.
I have just a few questions regarding laying boards down in an attic with roof trusses.
It is only for light storage.
Insulation stick up 200mm from top of trusses, but don't mind squashing a little bit.
Do I lay for example 6"x2" joists opposite way to the trusses then ay the boards 90 degrees to the 6"x2"?
Also got 2 jobs both wanted a loft ladder but on both jobs the trusses run 90 degrees to the hallway so the only way to have one is to put the drop down ladder in between the trusses and have it drop down in the bedroom or is there a way to add timbers and then cut the trusses so they can have it in between 2 trusses running the same way as the landing so it can drop down onto that.
Both jobs have 3"x2" sections at the bottom of the trusses with 600mm centres.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
