laying parkay flooring onto marble

new to this site so apologies if this has been brought up before but I want to lay a reclaimed parkay flooring onto a marble (type) floor can I just glue it straight on or do I have to pull the tiles up and self level the floor thanks in advance

You will be hard stretched to find an adhesive that will hold on marble
 
The newer Silaine type adhesives like Bona R850 and Laybond L19 should have no problem with Marble as long as the tiles are sound and thoroughly cleaned. I would also rough the surface after cleaning to allow a bit of a key.

As you are talking reclaimed wood is this likely to be contaminated with bitumen because these adhesives do not work with bitumen. Just a word of caution.

thank you I think it looks like a no no then as they are contaminated with bitumen (although we have tried our best to clean them) perhpas it might be best to lay ply wood down first :rolleyes:
