Hi,
We have wooden flooring in our dining room which is the original oak flooring circa 1870.. I hate it as a lot of the varnish has rubbed off and there are massive gaps between each floorboard..
I can't afford to get a professional to do it for me so I would like to get some advice as to whether it would be easier/cheaper to sand and finish it or to rip it up and lay all new flooring.. obviously the second option would solve the problem of the gaps between the floorboards.. If I did lay new floorboard what sort should I buy I want it to be quite light as the room is quite oppressive and dark wood would make the room look too dingy and if someone could tell me how easy it is to fit new floorboards...
Any advice would help.
Thanks
Barney
