Just recently purchased oak wooden flooring to replace the crapet in one of the bedrooms. Its my first time laying down wooden flooring, harden then i thought it would be. The problem im havin is that the flooring is of different lengths, about 11 different lengths in total. Ive laid three quarters of the room down leaving the 300mm stagger between joints. But now having looked at it, it just doesnt look right. IVe tried to use the shorter lengths at different intervals... but its not working cos now im left with fewer larger pieces and more shorter ones. Any tips?

i laid my own mahogany 18mm wooden flooring a couple of years ago.

the strips of wood went from around 300mm up to 1200mm, i just mixed them as i went taking care to maintain a bond.
its not supposed to look uniform (like laminate).
once you have finished you will see the bigger picture. ;)
