Lead flashings query

hi, I am getting my loft converted and just wanted to check if the roofers should have used step flashings or not as most of my neighbours do have them but we created more headroom in the loft so the ridge beam is higher so there is less space for the lead flashings. See pics below. Any info appreciated!
