Lead stain removal from glass

We Have very bad stains on our conservatory roof from the lead flashing.
It's not the white stains that I have read about but a dark stain coming from the lead ridge and from the velux windows. They have been there a few years at least.
Have tried a pressure washer but I think I'll need some chemicals to remove it.

does anyone have any experience of removing this type of stain please?

Yes I have! I had an insurance job once and the homeowner had the same complaint as you and said they'd tried all sorts and it wouldn't shift, when I climbed up I spat on the glass and rubbed the mark away, to stop it happening again I wiped patination oil over all the leadwork, job done! If you have a self cleaning roof you have to be very careful what you can use without damaging the coating
