hi i have been plumbing for 10 years and gas fitting for 5 i just renewed my gas and have deciced to go it alone, i was having some leaflets made which were double sided and were quite nice looking, not just plain. The price is 350.00 for 5000 from vistaprint does this sound about right for todays terms plus cheaper then other forms of advertising, just wanted other peoples points of view many thanks and happy new year

I have all my signage, printing done by local printers.
Depending on the size and quality the price will vary, but does sound quite expensive even if A4 size leaflets.

You could by a new colour laser printer, second set of toners and 10x as much paper for less

Always ask your customers where they got your details from. You will then easily work out if your investment was worth while.

The best things (as a may be user of such services) is a business card style, it can be put on pin board, tucked in consumer unit/boiler etc

3000 leaflets is a lot of shoeleather, and time spent trudging up driveways - or are you gonna pay someone else to do it?.

So, ponder this, just what do you do with all the leaflets that come through your front door?, put them aside for reading at some unsoecified time? - or just bin-em.

I would suggest spending that dosh in some local church parish magasines and see what response you get, or some google adwords. (I would suggest that the parish mag is even better than adwords for financial return)

Advertise in your local paper with a largish ad including both landline and mobile numbers it's expensive Round £30-80 per week ! But once you do it a few times they will call you with massive advertising discounts.

They will bite your arm of for an add..do a deal for pay for 4 weeks get 2 more free.

Hate to put a downer on this for you, but everything I have seen from 'vistaprint' has been very substandard quality.

I hope that you get what you wanted, although the price does sound high to me.

Try googleing Fairprint they sell on eBay as well you design it yourself and email it to them and they are a lot cheaper than your quote (or they were when I used them last)

It's a5 and printed front and back
Ridiculously expensive then.

5000 colour A5 here: http://www.azimuthprint.co.uk/leaflets.php for £159
That's without design, but even after paying for a design as well, it's still vastly less.

Or another place here: http://www.goodprint.co.uk/leaflets_flyers/start

Also unlike Vistaprint, you don't have to pay loads extra to have them delivered in 3 weeks from some distant country, only to then find that 50% of them are useless because the print quality is equivalent to daubing chalk onto a roll of bog paper, and even the headed paper which is printed properly is still junk, because their 'A4' paper is bizzarely 1mm too long and jams in the printer tray every time you attempt to use it.
