Hi, firstly apologies if i am posting in the wrong section, but wondered if anyone might be able to help. In Feb we had new bathroom installed, bath out and new walk in shower, panels, flooring etc. In July I heard hissing/running water sound, called plumber who said he couldn't hear anything and it seemed everything was okay. A few days later water seeping through new flooring. Called plumber again, and he came next morning and confirmed a leak, then left and came back a week later to fix. He found one of the pipes to shower had a hole in it so replaced it. Hissing/water running sounds stopped, but he left plinth under shower off so that wet through floorboards could dry out. This was around 12th July he changed pipe. Now end of August plinth still not back on and floor boards still wet/damp .Been running a dehumidifier contantly for two weeks (on advice from damp expert) which has not made difference. Now other side of the wall, which is my sitting room the paint is bubbling and small black spots appearing. Plumber can't understand what's happening and said he will have to look again - maybe at trap, whch to him seemed fine before. Does anyone have any idea of what might be happening, I know it's difficult to say without seeing it. Also roughly how long it's likely to take to dry out floorboards beneath a shower? Thanks for listening, Lucy.

Post some pics. Wet floorboards wood normally dry out in a couple of days if the leak’s fixed

Might be worth speaking to your insurance legal cover and get someone in to fix it, then MCOL the original plumber. Some plumbers really are right plums.

Get someone to stomp around in the shower while you look under. If anything moves it's a no-hoper and needs starting again.

Thanks everyone for your replies, they're very helpful. Plumber is coming back tomorrow to get / look right under the shower with shower running and someone, as you say Ivor, stomping around in it. I hope; it doesn't need starting again, but if that's what it is then not much choice. Thanks again. Lucy
