Hi
Have an Ariston Euro Combi boiler, which has had a few problems in the past, and is now leaking quite a bit from underneath - its from the side where it says 'DOMESTIC HOT WATER OUTLET'. I am waiting to hear from a plumber, but just wondered if in the mean time its still OKay to use the hot water?
Thanks
Joe

If water is leaking from the boiler the safest course of action is to stop using the boiler and turn the power off.

If its the white fronted EuroCombi (A23MFFFI or A27MFFI) with the row of temperature LEDs the leak is normally from either the diverter seal on the left or from the pump flow switch plastic assembly (left front).

You could remove the screws at the top of the white front panel, slide this up and off and lower the control panel down. You should be able to see any leaks and if they present a hazard until you get the boiler repaired.

If its really only leaking from the hot water connection it probably only needs tightening up which you could do yourself. In that case you could continue using the boiler if the leaking water is not getting into anything electrical.

The cost could be anything from nothing if you are a pretty blond to £30-£50 or whatever the local call out cost is.

If the leak is from inside then the boiler should not be used and the cold water supply valve can be turned off the stop the leaking.

That could be from £50-£100 depending on exactly what has failed and needs replacing.
