I had an expensive front door fitted into an arched opening over summer, seemed fine until the bad weather came along and now it's started leaking badly around the frame.
It seems to leak at numerous points around the frame from about handle height downwards.
I've had the installers out so many times it's not funny, the latest idea they have is that water is leaking down the cavity wall and running down the sides of the frame. Might be believable if the the wall was even a cavity wall and the head of the frame was damp which it is not.
Just really after some idea on what to check, what I think is happening is water is getting in via the seal on the top light above the door and running down into the frame until it reaches the screw holes where the frame is screwed to the wall, where the water is coming out of and making the plaster damp.
The outside has been siliconed to death so it can't get getting in there, and certainly not penetrating 5 inches deep to get to the plaster anyhow.
