Hello hope you can help, have a Gloworm 24CI combi boiler. Kept losing pressure and overflow pipe was dripping, was advised at plumber merchant to change the pressure releif valve, which i did. It is still losing pressure but not leaking out of overflow. On closer inspection it is now dripping from another valve underneath. Looked it up in the manual and it is call the reduced pressure zone valve. It has a threaded nipple thing which is simply leaking. My question is - is it simply a case of changing this valve, manual says you can change the o rings, or is there something else wrong, which is causing this valve to leak as a safety measure - hope this makes sense to someone.

This valve wouldnt leak as a saftey measure. I personally havent had any problems with this part of the boiler. The o-rings may not be seated properly which now have been exposed due to increase in pressure as the prv was letting by before. There is a retaing clip on the valve, remove this to remove the valve, check or replace the o-rings and replace the unit. The system will need to be refilled and vented, then check for leaks around the unit. After this it should be fine

ok will do that - thanks. What is the valve for then, and why does it have a threaded nipple on it as if it is supposed to release water?? - any ideas

It is part of the filling loop it sometimes drips when you repress. the syst there is probably muck in the seating. If it is continually leaking i norrmally replace them. p/no 2000802600
