Hello all.

I live in a chalet Bungalow.

The gutters are within easy reach of a small ladder.

I have a leaking corner join - the gutters must be at least 10 (if not even 15-20) years old.

I am not in a position to redo gutters and soffits quite yet.

I have tried replacements however inevitably there is a size / brand mismatch which seems to contribute to it leaking again.

Is there some means / method / product / technology etc that can jus stop the leak at a joint in its tracks.

I don’t want to replace it as all I’ll get is likely a mismatch in size and those rubber strips within the gutters are quite frankly ****e.

So I look forward to hearing your success stories to stopping a leaking gutter and what products you may recommend in doing so.

Thank you.

Regards, G

If you are not going to replace the gutter you could open up the joint and clean it out and replace the rubber seals if they are worn out.
Failing that you could squeeze silicone rubber into the open joint and then reconnect it.
Once reconnected the pressure will squeeze excess silicone from joint which is then wiped off ,once the silicone cures it should make a watertight seal.

Thank you.

I have had limited success with replacement rubber seals.

Do you have a link to silicone rubber? Is this just normal silicone or something more specialised?
