Leaking roof 3 yrs on

Hope someone can help we've had a leak for probably the last 3 years and still haven't found out where it's coming from. It doesn't leak all the time only under very heavy rain and wind, even then its only a drip. However its driving me mad. I've attached a picture and stuck a bit of cable under tile where the leak is showing up inside the house. The water is travelling from higher up as when I pull the felt lap open inside I can see a line of water running down. We did have the end ridge tile redone 2.5 years ago but that has not made any difference. Hopefully someone might be able to spot something . Now I look at it looks like the repair job from a few years ago was a bodge job?

No saddle at the ridge verge junction . It'll run down from there .

Surely any leak is in the under felt not the tiles, so repair that

The leak is showing up where the old flue used to exit the roof so there is a round hole in the felt that allows to exit into loft. I'm actually having the flue replaced and redirected back up to exit in the old location. But surely its better to stop the water getting in under tiles in the 1st place?

Cheers for that just had a look on Google to see what you are on about. I've just had a look at the front and there is a lead saddle showing there but not on this side ?

Yes.... if you can find the cause.

But it should not be getting through the felt in the first place as that's the whole point of the felt being there, so that needs repairing regardless.

Maybe the felt's got holes in it woody?

Never mind the felt.
The saddle should span the ridge and abutt the wall.
Quite often only a partial saddle is fitted. This will not take care of water entering the verge or ridge joint

Is that a vent tile at top , looks to be open to the elements.
