Leaking Shower cubicles.

We have recently had a quadrant shower installed by a plumber but find it is still leaking from both corners and waste water outlet. We have tried to seal along the edges/tiles with silicone adhesive but still leaking. We also have water sitting in u bend of waste water outlet is this OK. Our plumber says it is to stop smells coming back up pipe?
Any info gratefully received.

Water IS supposed to sit in the trap to stop smells coming back in the room

We have tried to seal along the edges/tiles with silicone adhesive but still leaking.

Make sure that it is completely dry before re-applying silicone other wise it will not stick. Its better to cut out the old silicone rather than just siliconing over the top of the stuff that is leaking.

• Cut out the old sealent.
• Leave to allow any water to dry out. (24 hours should be long enough)
• Re-apply new silicone as per your shower cubicle instructions.

But as Bahco has said, get the plumber back. He should rectify any problems he has left behind.

Dont silicon inside shower ,only on the outside of the profiles and along the outside of tray . some shower cubicles dont take too kindly to silicon inside as designed for drainage back into shower tray.better still get the cowboy back to rectify

I'll echo the 'get him back' comments but incidentally what make is the enclosure ? did the plumber have any reservations as to how suitable it would be ?

Depends what enclosure it is, i've fitted a few that have specified sealent on the inside of the profiles.
