I was doing some work in the loft and accidentally kicked an insulated cold water pipe which supplies water to the bathroom sink and bathtub.

The stopcock joint is now leaking. Its not much, about a few drops per hour. The stopcock is a few inches to the left where I kicked the pipe. Can I fix it by tightening the connector nuts slightly? Is there anything that I should be aware of?

Before you attempt to fix the leaking valve locate the one before it (water main possibly) just in case it should leak even worse.

Great idea to have a radio to have someone at the other valve ready to shut it in case there is a problem so you don't have to make a mad run to shut off a flood

Don't risk tightening the joint, because if it was poorly made then it could just blow off.

As ST has said, isolate the upstream stop cock, then take the leaking joint apart and remake it properly.

Thanks for the advise guys. I've got a friend who fix it for me. It just took a few minutes.
